Grinder recommendation?

Fellow meat-aholics, need your advice.

I've seen several recommendations for the Northern Tool grinder (this one, I think - http://www.northerntool.com/sh...200451267_200451267).

For those of you who have one, still happy with it? Anyone have another brand they like?

I'm done with my KA mixer attachment, and want a dedicated unit.

Thanks for your input!

Bought my grinder last fall from Northern Tool. Works great so far.

I did however have some issues with using it as a stuffer. The auger seemed to generate a little too much heat, and caused some texture issues. Probably part my fault as well, but it can be an issue I guess.

I've used that grinder for over a year and it's worked great. As Rich notes, using the grinder as a stuffer can pose some challenges, but overall it's done the job with little problems. Proper chilling of the ground meat prior to stuffing helps a lot. I think it's a great grinder for home use.

Thanks, guys. I've got a piston stuffer, so no worries there. Appreciate the input!!

FWIW, this grinder can be found on Amazon for the same price as Northern Tool, but with free shipping.....and, of course, that means you can support TVWB and Chris at the same time.

Mine will be on its way soon.
