Trussing Briskets

This question may favor the WSM 18 owners, but have any of you "trussed" a extremely large packer brisket along the long axis in the hopes that you could make it fit better on the WSM 18 ?

Even more, have any of you trussed briskets and then could fit 4 on an WSM 18 easier?

If you have, did you notice any change in the cook or the end result?

I am still trying to weigh weather I need a 22 or could work with the 18.

Thanks again

No trussing. But, I have put a 16 lb'er on my 18. Yep, gotta shove the lid on. After a short while, it will shrink enough to fit nicely.

Except for that time, I never cook over 12 lb. size, shooting for as close to 10 lbs as possible. Even those may need a little tucking in. It's no problem doing so.

I don't see getting 4 briskets in there, on the two racks, but I have put a 3rd rack in the middle, set on coke cans. Or, on the top rack.

The middle rack cooks substantially slower than the other 2, so rotating is needed, unless you want one to lag well behind.

Cooking 3 will extend the cook time, but I don't recall it being too much.
