Do try Stoneridge Orchards: Montmorency Cherries.
Whole dried tart cherries. WOW if you love cherries get yourself to Costco and buy a bag. All natural cherries that are guarranteed to delight you!

What else can they be used for assuming there are some left after eating handful after handful?

I use them quite often. They are wonderful in sauces for grilled beef or bison steaks, elk, lamb, duck, and smoked turkey. They pair well with Dijon, with demi, with stock reductions, with wild mushrooms, and with bay, thyme and sage especially. They are also very good in stuffings (say, for pork loin or tenderloin). Try them in a rice side dish--with toasted almonds. Or in wild rice or wild rice cakes. Try them in cathead buttermilk biscuits (with fresh thyme and caramelized shallot), split, topped with pulled pork and drizzled with one of your sauces.

The jarred versions (usually packed in a light syrup) are great in sauce as well. I use them in Q sauces (I used the dried too). They are available at Trader Joe's.
