rotisserie maintenance

well, given that we talk about cleaning etc so much i have not seen anything about the rotis motor. i did write something a while back about finding some screws loose in the motor but thats it. so i went out and got some white grease to do some other maintenance and while doing that i looked at one of my rotis motors and said hmmmmm. so i took it apart. ya better be handy and careful here. so i lubed the gears and shafts. found the old stuff to be kinda stiff. so i went to my other motor and took it apart. wow. the grease was so stiff and tacky that i had a hard time moving the gears and taking them off the shafts. when i got the gears off the shafts i looked closer and saw that the shafts actually showed wear with indications of something like seizing/galling. yikes. so i cleaned things off and lubed it up until the gears spun freely. so now i'm happy. now this might not be an issue but i might suggest checking yer motors.
