Whiskey in your Jerky marinade?

I really really prefer homemade to store bought. So I found this (although have not tried it nor likely to cuz bourbon just ain't my thing). There are lots out there
http://penncrofthomestead.com/homemade-whiskey-beef-jerky/ It even uses the same bourbon as your "found" product Clint.

From looking at "their" ingredients, it looks like it's just the addition of your fav booze and the wood you use to smoke it and you can use everything else as a "base" flavour profile.

it's jerky, not pork butt ;)

I have marinated flank steaks in a 50/50 mixture of soy sauce and bourbon for 55 years! I do it for 24 hours - wonderful.

I've been meaning to make some jerky for a long time. A whiskey based marinade sounds like just the ticket

some venison strips in the dehydrator right now... soaked in bourbon (Knob Creek) overnight.

Just the Knob Creek or other ingredients in your Marinade Jim? Gave my son $25 to come back with some Jerky meat
