I have bad knees so find that bending down to adjust the vents on the bottom of the WSM 22.5 is tough, especially in the back as I have a small wall on the patio.
I looked at what I did with my 14.5 putting it on blocks on end and decided that putting the 22.5 on blocks laid flat would make it easier to get at the vents. It did.
the downside to many people is that the top cooking grate is now 8 inches higher and if you are not tall enough taking the top grate out and getting at the bottom grate could be tough. I am 6'1" so that is not an issue for me, I actually like my new height.
