Want to finally make bacon, will this salt cure work?

Having a hard time finding Prague Powder #1 or Morton Tender Quick around here but i found this at wally world. What do you guys think? Is this the same stuff? Bought more belly tonight and want to get started and not have to wait a few days for amazon to ship.

I think you would be fine with that. I double checked to make sure it had the sodium nitrite to make sure it would preserve the meat and it does. I found a link here:

Under specs it list the ingredients. We use a similar product at our butcher shop for curing meat. When we buy it, it's listed as pink tinted cure. Actually the proper name brand on the stuff we buy is called Heller's Modern Cure, but I checked the ingredients and it is identical to the Smokehouse Curing Salt you are looking at.

Yes, like Jim said, it's what is more commonly called pink salt.
Keep in mind that it is not used like MTQ.

sub brown sugar for the maple sugar if you want.
