Weber Genesis Redhead - Wobbly Frame

What have you all done to tighten up the wobble in a the frame of your old genesis? Everything on my grill is in great condition so I hate to pick up another one on CL just to swap the frame. I tried to tighten the bolt on the lower crossmember but they are rusted and will just break.

Wondering if I should add a brace to the frame corners.
 
I'm not sure which thread it was, but someone here ran a threaded rod inside the crossmember from one side to the other and tightened a nut on either end, I believe.
 
That is what I did. Long rod 3/16" IIRC. If you look at specialty fastener sites you can find replacement spider nuts. They lock in to the tube and a short screw than tightens. It's what Weber used originally
 
Just pulled the crossmember off mine. The old star nuts inside the tube rusted away and fell apart. I think I will just replace them and bolt it back together.
