Prepping a 22 WSM for a gasket

I was thinking of buying gasket kit for my 22 WSM, mostly for the lid section. I have done about 20 cooks on it and it does have a little gunk built up but it still isn't sealed very well. I was wondering what I could clean the lid with to get it ready for the gasket?

I also followed that THoey thread. I used the degreaser and cleaned the surfaces that would take the adhesive. I had done a lot of cooks too. It works great.

After you clean and degrease it wipe it down with some Isopropyl alcohol. It's a final primer we use to ensure a good bond when applying adhesives to metal.
