Trying to set up stoker network connection, not having luck

Hey everyone. i am running an 18.5" wsm with a white box stoker kit and i love the setup. I am running a netgear n600 router and also running a linksys wet610n for a gaming adapter. I am having issues accessing the stoker when i am off the network. Here is what i can get to work.

When the stoker is connected to my netgear n600 i can access it on wifi and i can access it when i am off of my network. So that works properly,
But when i hook up the stoker to my gaming adapter, i can view it on wifi, but i cannot seem to get it to work when i am off of the network...

Its really frustrating and it has prevented me from doing a few cooks already and i just want to get it resolved. If anyone has any tips or any direction please let me know. Any and all tips are definitely appreciated!

Thanks in advance!!

I've had a lot of issues with the performance of the Linksys game controllers. I have a different one from you. With the white box Stoker, I found that for best WiFi performance I took and old Linksys AP Router and flashed it with the DD-WRT firmware and then configured the AP/router to be a Client Bridge. Basically made it a game controller with a lot more range. So I can connect from anywhere in my house to the Stoker out in the yard that way. Stokerlog 7 works fine that way and I can, of course, just login to the Stoker web page. Stokerlog will recover through the WiFi disconnect you will always get with WiFi.

However, I now run a more elegant solution because that's how I roll. :)

I mentioned it in another post: http://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?19520-New-stoker-web&p=634571&viewfull=1#post634571

I am running into a different issues now. I wired the stoker direct to my n600 inside the house no gaming adapter and i run the stoker wires outside. I can access it on wifi but can't Access off of my network. Any tips or advice. Would be nice to access when at church or stores etc..

Hi Daniil -

You’ll need a few things in order to get this setup

1.) Your internet IP address (your router should show this. Perhaps under setup or WAN settings)
2.) Reserve an IP address for the stoker on your LAN in your router settings
3.) Choose a custom tcp port to access the stoker over the internet. Just make one up but don’t use a well known port.

Then, in your router forward the custom port you chose to port 80 of the IP address you reserved for the Stoker. To access the stoker while not connected to your LAN you would use a url formatted like:

http://<your internet IP>:<custom port number> i.e., http://201.75.112.135:23456

Your router will then forward this to port 80 on the Stoker.

Note that your internet address will most likely expire and a new one will be issued by your ISP after a set number of days. You will need to keep track of this change or use a service such as http://www.noip.com/remote-access to do it for you. If you use DDNS then you would access the stoker via the dns name you created instead of the IP address. For example:

http://mystoker.noip.org:23456

Hope this helps

Hey everyone just wondering if anyone else has any tips I can see my stoker online when I type in the iP address but when I get off my WiFi the page doesn't load just stays blank. Doesn't say error or anything? It's kind of frustrating if anyone has any other tips or ideas please let me know. My stoker is hardwired into my net gear n600 dual band router

Yes i set it up per previous suggestions. I made an ip reservation and off of that i made port forwarding to my specific ip address. I can see the stoker just fine when i am on wifi. But when i try to access it away from my network. It won't let.
