Suggestions for add-ons to keep IMUSA pot handles cooler?

Has anyone come up with a simple solution to cover the lift handles on the IMUSA pot to make them easier to grasp when they get hot?

I'm hoping for something that will just slip on. Removing the rivets and handles to add something to the handles to keep them cooler to the touch doesn't seem worth the effort.

I'd like to find something that will just slide on and do the trick.

How about an empty toilet paper roll? Cut it to fit and slice it down the middle to wrap the handle,. Cheap and easy and also good for the environment.

I have a few ideas for you -

or twist some coil springs around the handle: https://www.google.com/search?q=coil+spring

wrap some leather or rope around them: https://www.google.com/search?q=wrapped+handle

or maybe one of your mom's curlers?

Take an old hose, cut to length and then slit down the middle. Or for a tighter fit, buy smaller rubber tubing and do the same.
 
Another idea would be to wrap with leather and or rope (not synthetic), like oar leathers
