Crimping the top of the IMUSA pot

Any suggestions for crimping the to of this? Should I putt it up or crimp down? (if that makes sense).

The bottom fits nicely, but the top needs some adjustment bit time.
 
Ben, I just built mine a couple of weeks ago. I crimped the top edge down. I took the finger from an old leather work glove wrapped over the edge and a vise grip pliers to it. Made quick work of it. Probably had the whole rim done in under 5 minutes.
 
Thanks for the reply Eric. I ended up using a C-clamp and going around the edge, crimping it in. It not fits nicely.
 
I wonder as an alternative...cutting a few relief slots in the rim and squeezing the top in a little. If one is already cutting the rim fer the thermometer probe wire, it would work out pretty well. Yes, the smoker might leak some smoke in those slots but yer not looking to keep all the smoke in, right? :D
