Browns mini test fire

Finally got around to the test fire. Nothing fancy.

Overloaded with sharcoals and wood chunks. Hickory and mesquite.

Half a chimney of lit.

All put together for the first time under heats!

My butcher gave me a hunk of fat for free for the cause!

Then I scavenged the freezer for some safrificial lambs (way old meat!).

There's an old pork butt steak, some old beef ribs, a chunk of some sort of old stew meat, and the free chunk of fat. Temps were all over due to all kinds of outside factors. New rig. My guru is on the fritz. Went w no drip pan w all that meat so I ran the fan on full go to keep the temps up. Put the diffuser in and set up my pitmaster iq 110. Temps settled right down. After five hours plus at temps between 235 and 390(at fire up), I shut it down for the night. Very happy my questionable paint job held up! Tomorrows game cook will be a legit first run. Fingers crossed for when it counts. Thx for looking.

My paint job was just the drum. The Browns logo and wooden handle are weber factory goods. It's an nfl edition smokey joe. I've google it, and mine seems to be the only one out there!? I found one other nfl edition and it was the bears logo. It seems the homer edition is easier to find.
