Anyone ever make marshmallows?

I found a recipe on the food tv site and I think I want to make my own marshmallows for s'mores this weekend. Anyone have experience with this?

I'm all for making my own "stuff" but that seems too much effort/product for something that'll (IMO) taste the same as store-bought.
This recipe from Alton Brown makes 9 DOZEN

Made them once. OMG, hot sticky mess! They tasted great but WAY too much work for something I eat 2 of a year.

this was the recipe I was planning to use! As much fun as I think it would be perhaps I'll just buy them.
