Probe Alternatives

If it isn't in the wiki, it's never been tried (or maybe it has been and nobody's reported back). If they fit in the jacks "all you need to do" is get the right coefficients for them.

Thanks Bryan. I'll figure that out and give it a shot when I get my HM put together and post the results. Hats off to you for sharing this awesome project with the world.

I had two Maverick ET-732 units so I've been using the probes from those, I have the issues with the food probes showing as 'off' until they heat up which is annoying but I guess I can live with it. Recently the two pit probes have started giving me grief if the cables get touched so I assume I have the grounding issue as well. I've decided to go for some replacements so I thought I'd share the links here for anyone else in the UK that doesn't want to import.

I've got a replacement ET-73 from Macs BBQ via Amazon UK here http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00ABYVGIU/

And I've ordered two thermoworks ChefAlarm probes from here http://thermometer.co.uk/probes-leads-fittings/1100-chefalarm-penetration-probe.html

I could do with a longer cable on the chamber probe but I've managed so far.
