Grate conditioning after thorough cleaning

I recently purchased a used Weber gasser and the grates were pretty groady. So I soaked them in soapy water and scrubbed them pretty well.

Any suggestions for seasoning or conditioning them prior to the first post-scrub use?

Thanks in advance!

The purists like flaxseed oil because it dries and hardens.
Not that easy to find.
In lieu of that, I would choose a high-heat rated oil.

A combo of salt and cooking oil is a good way to clean after seasoning.
Dish detergent wipes out any seasoning and you have to start over.

Thanks for the tip Joe-- I'll know better next time.
