    Flaky Pit Temp

You have a cold solder joint. Take an old toothbrush and scrub the solder connections wit rubbing alcohol until everything shines. Look through a magnifying glass at all the connections; one or more may be dull. Remove the solder (some wicking material is easiest) and re-solder. The bad...

Just built my first Heatmeter...booting with USB, not with 12V

Take rubbing alcohol and an old toothbrush to all the solder joints. Any solder joint not shiny is a cold solder joint. This will also clean up the rosin from the solder core. Take your time. Once the board is clean clean clean, you will find it easier to see any solder bridges.

    The Development Log

RJ45. That would allow you to use the green pair for the motor, keeping the noise level off the temp probes (green has a tighter twist, great for noise reduction). If you happen to plug in stuff backwards, I don't think any damage will be done. We use POE systems everywhere, and customers...

HM version 4 Rpi 3d print case

Have you the stl files for the new case. I have built a couple of cases, and don't think they will stand up to too much. I haven't quite figured out the hows and whats on changing existing cad files to change the thickness, etc.

HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

I would grab an old toothbrush and a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Power down the system, pour the alcohol on the board, and scrub with the toothbrush. Do it a couple of times, then allow the board to dry. Take a magnifying glass and look at the solder joints. This will help you find any solder...

HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

I have used that blower on both my 22 in weber, and on a stoker clone,, when the outside temps were just above 0F. Temps were fine at 225F.

HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

From the outside. I have an instance where we are doing a demonstration cook in Edmonton, but I also have to coach a playoff football game 2 towns over. I want to keep an eye on things to help the cook team with temps and times. I'll be using my cell router, but as it;s a netgear, it doesn't...
