good point....i updated info. yes! only 7mm grates...they look a bit beefier in person....I know NOT as beefy as Dave's 3/8" MONSTERS!! I actually have a set of those on my 86' Gen 1 Brown..
Well.....this is my 1st time acquiring a coveted GENESIS 5000 LP w/ rare Muave color hood. Per date stamps, hood 93' and cook box 90' I'm lead to believe that this grill is a 90' GEN 5 frame with a replacement (maybe a warranty issue) 93' hood. Either way, I'm humbled to as gotten it for FREE...
Just picked up this Genesis 5000 in Phoenix last week ... Lucky for me my favorite price ..free :) Per previous posts yes I too am very lucky all glass intact! Even had original manifold bracket and flame check button! 1990 frame with a 93 hood... Will post final restoration pics when done ..of...
thx!!! re: red caps...ACE is the place. Last time there, they had black and red in 1" :) If they don't have the red, you can always rustoleum spray paint if needed.

Just picked up this beauty!! Vintage....1978 (correct me if you think not?) 22" Weber Kettle. Based on the lid vent stampings, wheels, and larger bottom kettle vents, is how I date stamped 78'. If I got this year wrong...let me know!!

I agree w/ Jon....YES!! $80 a bit high...BUT if all original parts are there (I've paid as much as $100 for 85-87' GEN.s) then...all good!! Vintage parts NO longer avail. OR to much of a pain to fabricate...its worth paying a bit more for....plus...any rusted frame support rods you can just...
