Pit Meter crash when changing a value

A couple of questions: What version of heatermeter software are you running? Have you confirmed the correct server, user name, and password settings in the app?

Pit Meter - iPhone app for the HeaterMeter

Thanks for the push discussion guys. At the time I developed the app I researched options and didn't like any of the free providers. I'm glad that there are more options now and I'd like to think these are viable. I haven't been the greatest maintainer because the app hasn't been updated...

Pit Meter - iPhone app for the HeaterMeter

I don't think I'm at a stage where I'd like to open source the app, especially because I have a v2 version that is partially complete. I'll try to make time to take v2 off the back burner. iPad support was a major goal. Actually with the iPhone 6 I'd like to refactor the app to use adaptive...

Pit Meter App No Longer Able to Change Settings

I think Steve has the most likely explanation. Make sure the app has the correct username and password.

Pit Meter - iPhone app for the HeaterMeter

Bonjour would be very cool. I'm under the impression that iOS should have pretty good API's for it too. Thanks for the heads up Bryan.

Pit Meter - iPhone app for the HeaterMeter

I had an email from a user on how to access his HM from his mobile data plan. Here are the steps to follow. Troy, please let us know if you have any troubles following these steps. 1. Write down your Heatermeter IP address - this would be the IP address you use on wifi to load the HM web...

Running HM off of a battery (a review)

DGetz, is there a reason you'd like to use those lithium batteries? I've done a fair amount of research for battery options in the 12v space because I go to the BWCA here in northern MN once a year to fish out of a canoe for several days. I like to bring a 12v fish finder / GPS combo but I can...

    Post your live HeaterMeter Cooks

Smoking a few whole trout. This is very experimental for me... Starting out by seeing how low the HM will stabilize. Update: Looks like 140F wasn't achievable with my setup. No worries, it'll work perfectly to have the temp keep creeping up. The HM still acts as remote monitoring and fire...

Pit Meter - iPhone app for the HeaterMeter

Steve's right. For iOS push notifications, the HM needs to be able to make an HTTP POST from an alarm script. I recommended to use what I am most familiar with in a command line environment - openssl. If there's a better alternative in stock HM that would be great.

    Second batch of Heatermeters

Peter, I think you've single-handedly made the Pit Meter iPhone app ranked 301st in the Netherlands app store. It's not first but 301 isn't too bad is it? :) http://www.distimo.com/iq/app/apple-app-store/darren-eisenzimmer/pit-meter

Anyone have a 4.1 PCB they'd like to part with?

Pit Meter - iPhone app for the HeaterMeter

There is code in the app that's supposed to be clearing the alert count, but I have the same issue on my device too. I had wondered if my switching between the production and test Apple servers had caused the issue for me. You just confirmed that's not the case. Consider it a bug for me to...
