    Summit E-670 Running Hot

Well, since LMichael brings up that it may be a safety issue, I will be getting it checked...by someone other than the contractor that installed the line. So for now I go back to charcoal for Labor Day weekend, as I look at my expensive paperweight. Thanks for the help!

    Summit E-670 Running Hot

Thanks for answers! LMichaels - I bought the grill new from Amazon and ordered the NG version. It came with the 15 foot hose and all the warnings that stated it needs NG, not LP. Andy - Have not tried single burner, but it does with 3 burners on low (one side or every other one). The problem...

    Summit E-670 Running Hot

I bought a Summit E-670 about three months ago and I still have not figured out how to get a low temperature out of it to grill something longer than a few minutes. No matter where I put the knobs (low, med, or high) the grill gets up to about 700 degrees in just over 5 minutes. I figured...

Best gas grill body type for near the beach?

My father got the black enamel Genesis with SS grates about a year ago and his house is about 75 feet from the Atlantic down in Florida. Every week I get to hear how impressed he is that the grill is still in mint condition. Everything rusts down there. They replace lamps, televisions, etc on...

Charcoal chefs, do you also use Gas?

I know the "gas is quicker" argument has been brought up already, but I mainly go with the gas route because I hate the clean-up of charcoal and waiting longer to cover the grill back up (Might not be as much of an issue for you with a covered area). Also, if you grill 4-5 times per week, the...

    Smoke Day Ribs

Onion potatoes...real simple. Slice up some potatoes, throw them in a pan with some butter and a package of Knorr/Lipton Onion soup mix (the dry power stuff) sprinkled over top. Put the pan on the grill and cook them on medium-high for 20-30 minutes. People tend to fight for the burnt ones on...

    Smoke Day Ribs

Smoke Day 2013 Ribs and smoked Mac & Cheese in a very windy Hershey, PA. I was a little scared today when I fired up the smoker...we had 26 MPH winds all day so I figured my temperature would be all over the place. I locked in at 225 and it did not waver for 5 hours! So we got some pretty...

    Sear Station...Not-Traditional Uses

Jeff - Very valid point. I never had a sear station in the past and I never felt left out!

    Sear Station...Not-Traditional Uses

LMichaels - See, now you are making this harder for me! I always thought of just cooking chicken on a rotisserie, which I have little interest in doing...but now you made me search out other things I can do when you pointed out the roast. The question now is: is it worth $150 (weighted value)...

    Sear Station...Not-Traditional Uses

Jay - that next step up to the 670 is another $500. Sounds small with the overall price, but I originally set out to buy the 420, so I already upped the budget by $500. Running it past the wife, I had to prove that it would actually last for 13+ years before getting approval. :D Lucky for me...

    Sear Station...Not-Traditional Uses

I am deciding between the Summit 470 and the 620. They are the same price but for me it comes down to getting a big grill with a sear station or a huge grill without one. Added grilling space is always a plus for me as when I cook on the grill, the whole meal is done on the grill and right now...

    gas grill as pizza oven???

The aproach I normally take is a little different, but pizza is one thing we do a lot of on the grill. This isn't really along the same lines as brick oven, but it turns out amazing pizzas every time. I get the grill up as high as it will go by preheating for about 20 minutes. I roll out my...

    Wisconsin ....Smoked Cheese

Peach Wood from Fruita Wood Chunks

I think by cut to order they mean they are cutting from a log when you order it, not cutting down the tree when you order it. I use their peach wood and love it. Goes great on a whole chicken. Yesterday I used it with meatloaf. I do venture to other woods, but this is my favorite and my wife's.
