Just a heads up that the 3rd Annual Lodi Valley Brewbque, located in Lodi, WI, will be held on Saturday, September 25. We moved the date up one week because of timing of the American Royal BBQ. More info. to come, or watch the Lodi Chamber of Commerce website for updates: www.lodiwisconsin.com

I'm looking forward to entering the rib contest this year! I only did the homebrew contest last year. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the entry forms on the chamber website.

We most likely wont make it this year but we may. We are going to the Royal and plans are to leave thursday so it gets to be a short week. For those considering going it is a fun one day event. We have more fun with the peoples choice then you can imagine. They sell tickets to people for the chance to go to all the teams participating in the PC contest .So you can talk up your process etc. Its a lot of fun.

I am really disappointed that we can't make it this year. I booked a fishing trip a few months ago and will be on my way back to Lodi on the 25th.

Coz is right, this is a very fun event. Anyone just wanting to ry a contest without all the pressure of a full KCBS competition should consider this one. We had an absolute blast the last 2 years and will miss seeing everyone there.

John & Mike, we're going to miss you this year! I know the VIP's really have a blast talking to the teams, and judging the ribs. You guys made the first two years a lot of fun.

We'll be handing out information in Princeton this weekend. The Lodi Chamber web site should be updated by the end of the week with more info. and registration forms.

John, we have a couple of people traveling to Princeton to hand out flyers... I'll have them stop by and see you. I'm off to a class reunion this weekend.

The rules for the 2010 Lodi Brewbque have been posted. Looking for teams interested in a laid back event, one day only, with pork ribs taking center stage. We have a official competition, with KCBS judges, and also a "People's Choice" award.

Last weekend of the month, Saturday, September 25.

This is the link to the event page on the Lodi Chamber web site:

A few questions to Mike G.
1. All I have is a 12' x 12' ez up canopy, is the 10' x 10' space limit set in stone?
2. Once the meat is inspected can we start cooking or do we have to wait until after the cooks meeting?
Thanks, Chris

Chris, Q.1, just contact the Chamber and let them know space needs; they will accommodate.

Q.2, You can start cooking as soon as meat is inspected.

Sorry for delay in answering your ?'s. Let me know if you have any others.

Thanks for the great time Mike! You all did a great job. We never thought we would win our first time out! Two WSM teams took 1st and 2nd place and both of us were first timers. Go figure.

Congratulations to all that walked!

I was glad to get there in time to buy a VIP ticket and sample ribs for people's choice. 30 VIP tickets were sold so the contestants had their hands full and all did a great job. Some really good ribs were presented, hats off to Les for taking 1st in the VIP and Chris for the KCBS portion! We will definitely be back next year.
