Had to hit the middle "Not sure" just because I will throw some cheese at times on beef or even pulled chicken. Never pork though.

Yep.

White American on the pulled pork.

Super Sharp Cheddar on the brisket.

Pepperjack by itself.

As long as it's melted, its grrrrreat!

See, I agree with Wolgast and ACrocker -- but ONLY if it's the RIGHT SHARP cheese as they suggest. I've tried just cheddar cheese and once even ruined a bbq sandwich with white american (a favorite of mine with ham). Bland cheeses just seem to make the bbq taste fatty IMO.

I have to say that I LOVE CHEESE. I have no problems at all with cheese on a grilled cheese sandwich -- do it all the time. But it's only good on Q if it offers a DISTINCT sharp, rich flavor that adds to and does not blur the flavor of the meat.

So, yes I voted I would try it once (actually twice), but no I don't like it (except for the EXCEPTIONAL cheese). (Cheese sauce Confused <puke> that's not cheese.)

I am betting that some of you guys would turn up your noses at a good cole slaw on a BBQ sandwich. Even more would turn down VINEGAR slaw on that sandwich. Smiler

Not from most of NC, SC, GA, etc. How else do you eat BBQ?

"American cheese" is NOT cheese.
It's as much cheese as Valveeta is.

I do it a little different...I like to use the smoked pork or brisket (oh **** just about anything!) and make tacos with it. Roll it up with some cheese and Jalapenos and some hot sauce in a corn tortilla!

Pulled pork baked potatoes with: butter, sour cream, and cheddar cheese, are pretty good so maybe a sandwich might taste good with shredded cheddar.

Always put vinegar slaw on pp. Being from Kansas (and never been to NC or SC) I have no idea where I picked this up though. Since I've moved to Iowa I have had to convert these Iowans to this (with much resistance.)

NFW. No Friggin Way.

Cheese on a pulled pork (or other well cooked meat) is like putting ketchup on a steak.

Even McDonalds won't allow cheese on their McRib sandwich. Putting cheese on pulled pork sandwiches should be against the law once you cross the Mason Dixon Line going south.
