run over by a car?

Was there a chicken inside at the time? I could just see the chicken flying through the air with hound dogs underneath. Wink

Since I got my WSM about a month ago I've been doing 2 "smokes" per week.

Newbie enthusiasm?

Probably! LOL

I've had my WSM for about 2 weeks, and have used it twice so far, the second being a 4 butt overnight session.

To some folks the summer is grllin time but living in sweltering FL the winter is grill time for me especially around the holidays. I usually use my WSM a couple times a month during the summer and a couple times a week during winter, I share with others from my WSM as much as I eat at home. Love that WSM! WSM Smile

It's a weekend thing for me. I'm trying to find a way to have longer weekends and shorter work weeks.

We plan on eating more chicken this year so 6 or 7 times a month won't be out of the question this year.

I don’t know, I went through 8 racks babybacks last year. The wife and I made our pork run today. We bought 5 babyback racks, 3 tenderloins, 1 Boston Butt which I cut in half. We then repacked all the pork individually and vacuum sealed them before they went in the freezer. We didn’t get a brisket because we were short of cash. Oh yeah, 2lbs of kielbasa for the grill. That’s not to say we’re not going to smoke a brisket and some chicken. But we’ll deal with that when we need to. I think we’re stocked up till November. We planned and budgeted for this since the end of last season.

I actually enjoy smoking and I don’t like leaving the WSM alone. So I spend most of the time out back with the Bullet sipping coffee, tea or water. I listen to music or my dog bark, who ever happens to be louder. I really enjoy doing it and smelling the different aromas. It’s like meditation and then we get to eat it….wow!
WSM Smile

We used ours many times over this past winter, and not so often this spring. However, It will mostly likely get fired up about 5 times per month over the summer and fall months.

I do a majority of my smoking in the summer when we're at the lake (May - September) and usually three times a week. Feeds a boatload of people for dinner and I love a cold BBQ brisket sandwich while fishin' in the early AM!
The winter months I'm not so into the snow and wonderful Indiana weather... I'm usually running my Summit Silver A or 22.5 Performer with a roti. I guess I'm a fair weather smoker?
I hope to change that this winter with some mods I made this summer.

As much as I can, weekly for sure, bi-weekly if I get the chance. My first "season" was winter in Iowa. Some days I wondered to myself, am I crazy or just dumb Wink When the meat freezes to the grate when you put it on.......you have to wonder LOL. When you can barely stand to be outside long enough to get things rolling, you have to wonder. But theres something about that smoke in the dead of winter that makes you all warm inside...

my WSM is on the way, but I plan on at least Sat?Sun smokin' and maybe a Wednesday as well. My wife likes to feed me left overs until I don't want to see a given dish, so I figure if I do some pulled pork and some brisket I will tolerate it for the next couple of nights Wink

I hope to use my new OTG during the week for quick burgers or chicken, may do a beer can. also some fish. BUT I must practice with da smoker so we can have a nice party when my son and daughter-in-law have their first baby in September.

During the winter I plan on making a concession to the weather and wear lONG pants and maybe a long sleeved shirt

I received my WSM mid May and i have been using it 3-5 times a weeks LOL. In 1.5 months I have done probably 12 racks of ribs, 5 pork butts, 3 briskets, 6 chickens and a slew of other meats lamb, moose, fatties etc. My AC is broken right now which is all the more reason to cook outside!!

Well I smoke, grill, and bake on mine year round. I'd have to say, I average about 2-3 cooks per week. WSM Smile

I've been using mine on the weekends for now. Living in an apartment complex I hate to leave it out overnight until it cools off enough to put back in the garage. Too much thievery in this world. I'd rather them steal my truck. Big Grin

Since late August, I've smoked every weekend, both Saturday and Sunday (except one Sunday when I had to attend a in-law family function out of town) ((wanted to take it with))...
I'm looking for different meats and such to smoke... haven't tried cabbage yet, that'll be REAL soon...
We'll see how this winter weather affects my habit (addiction)... S.O. says I'll taper off, I told her to move out...
does this http://good-times.webshots.com...09060105566169oQFUTG tell you I'll taper off?

Over the year I average more than 5x/month easily. I cook for myself/family at least 1x/week (in addition to using my kettles), cook for others an average of 1+ times/month.

I live in my own little world. That's okay because everyone knows me there.

I didn't use mine last weekend and I'm having withdrawl. Just had the wife invite some people over for this weekend's butt cook.

Whoa, my mouth is starting to water.
