You could also layer your chips in/with your coals. Someone mentioned that on here and I tried it. Works well and gives you a consistent amount of smoke throughout your burn. HTH

Thanks for all of the advice! I've tried layering the chips before but it seemed to flame out too quickly. Wonder if I did it correctly. I think I'll try dry chips in a smoker box for some smoked salmon this weekend.
