Chris, do you like the rub? I'm assuming it is suppose to be a like the rub used at the Rendezvous restaurant - or is it the actually recipe?

I have seen this passed around on the net quite a bit. However, if you compare this recipe to an actual container of rub from Rendezvous, it's obvious that this isn't their recipe. I used this as a base and then played around with different spices, and I think I came pretty close, but that's it. I do think that this is a good base for someone to start their own rub with, though

I wouldn't know where to begon. Their ribs, imo, have scant rub flavor.

Rendezvous doesn't put the seasoning on their ribs until right before they serve it. They brush the ribs with vinegar then sprinkle the seasoning on the ribs. I really like it and bought some when I was there. I tried putting it on before cooking, it had a nasty taste to me.

@Greg C. Do they use white or apple cider vinegar?

Now understand this is just MY opinion. In 2007 I went to Memphis In May. Friday night went to the Rendezvous. Ordered the half-slab. They were almost inedible. Terrible! I can't believe how much business this place does while serving lousy BBQ.
